The Prophet ﷺ said, "I was given victory through the easterly wind, and Aad was destroyed by the westerly wind."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: نصرت بالصبا، وأهلكت عاد بالدبور.
Narrated by Bukhari in the Book of Battles (4105) and Muslim in the Book of the Prayer for Rain (17:900), both through Shubah, who said, Hakam told me, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said, and then he mentioned it.His saying, "I was given victory by the Saba," with a fatha on the unpointed letter and a lightly pronounced letter ba, refers to the eastern wind. And "the Dabur" is the western wind.
