Ayesha reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided the captives of Banu al-Mustaliq, Juwayria bint Harith fell by lot to Thabit bin Qays bin Shammas, or to a cousin of his, and she made a contract with him to purchase her freedom. She was a woman of sweet beauty and great charm, whom no one could look upon without being captivated.She came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seeking his help with her contract.Aisha said, "By Allah, the moment I saw her at the door of my chamber I disliked her, for I knew he would see in her what I had seen."Juwayria entered upon him and said, "Messenger of Allah, I am Juwayria bint Harith bin Abu Darrar, the chief of his people. A misfortune has befallen me that is not hidden from you. I fell by lot to Thabit bin Qays bin Shammas, or to a cousin of his, and I made a contract with him to purchase my freedom. I have come to you to seek your help with my contract."He said, "Would you like something better than that?"She asked, "What is it, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "I will pay your contract and marry you."She said, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "It is done."The news spread among the people that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had married Juwayria bint Harith, and the people said, "The in-laws of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ!" So they released the captives they held.Aisha said, "By his marrying her, a hundred households of Banu al-Mustaliq were set free. I know of no woman who brought greater blessing upon her people than she did."

عن عائشة أم المؤمنين قالت

لما قسم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم سبايا بني المصطلق، وقعت جويرية بنت الحارث في السهم لثابت بن قيس بن شماس أو لابن عم له وكاتبته على نفسها، وكانت امرأة حلوة ملاحة لا يراها أحد إلا أخذت بنفسه، فأتت رسول الله ﷺ تستعينه في كتابتها، قالت: فوالله ما هو إلا أن رأيتها على باب حجرتي فكرهتها، وعرفت أنه سيرى منها ما رأيت، فدخلت عليه، فقالت: يا رسول الله أنا جويرية بنت الحارث بن أبي ضرار سيد قومه، وقد أصابني من البلاء ما لم يخف عليك، فوقعت في السهم لثابت بن قيس بن شماس- أو لابن عم له- فكاتبته على نفسي، فجئتك أستعينك على كتابتي. قال: فهل لك في خير من ذلك؟ قالت: وما هو يا رسول الله؟ قال: أقضي كتابتك وأتزوجك قالت: نعم يا رسول الله، قال: قد فعل قالت: وخرج الخبر إلى الناس أن رسول الله ﷺ تزوج جويرية بنت الحارث، فقال الناس: أصهار رسول الله ﷺ! فأرسلوا ما بأيديهم، قالت: فلقد أعتق بتزويجه إياها مائة أهل بيت من بني المصطلق، فما أعلم امرأة كانت أعظم بركة على قومها منها.
