As for Zaynab bint Jahsh, Allah protected her through her religion, and she said nothing but good. As for her sister Hamnah, she perished among those who perished. The ones who spoke about it were Mistah, Hassan bin Thabit, and the hypocrite Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul, who was the one stirring it up and gathering it. He was the one who took on the greatest share of it, he and Hamnah.
أما زينب بنت جحش فعصمها الله بدينها فلم تقل إلا خيرا، وأما أختها حمنة فهلكت فيمن هلك، وكان الذي يتكلم فيه مسطح وحسان بن ثابت والمنافق عبد الله بن أبي بن سلول، وهو الذي كان يستوشيه، ويجمعه، وهو الذي تولى كبره منهم هو وحمنة.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Repentance (58:2770) from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba and Muhammad bin Ala, who said, Abu Usama narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.Tirmidhi narrated it (3180) through another route from Abu Usama, and the wording is his. Bukhari mentioned it (4757) as a suspended report from Abu Usama, all of them as part of a longer story.His saying "yastawshihi" means he manages and directs it.
