Saad reported, "On the day of Uhud, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ joined together for me both of his parents," meaning when he said to him while he was fighting, "May my father and mother be your ransom."
لقد جمع لي رسول الله ﷺ يوم أحد أبويه كليهما، يريد حين قال: فداك أبي وأمي وهو يقاتل.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Military Expeditions (4057), and Muslim in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions (42:2412), both through the route of Yahya (that is, Ibn Saeed Ansari), from Saeed bin Musayab, from Saad bin Abu Waqqas, who said, and then he related it. The wording given is that of Bukhari.
