Ubayy said, "I never heard the Prophet ﷺ mention both of his parents together as a ransom for anyone except Saad bin Malik. On the day of Uhud, I heard him say, 'Shoot, Saad. May my father and mother be your ransom.'"
ما سمعت النبي ﷺ جمع أبويه لأحد إلا لسعد بن مالك، فإني سمعته يقول يوم أحد: يا سعد ارم فداك أبي وأمي.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Military Expeditions (4059) and Muslim in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions (41:2411), both through the route of Ibrahim bin Saad, from his father, from Abdullah bin Shaddad, from Ali, who said, then he mentioned it. His statement, "Saad bin Malik," refers to Saad bin Abu Waqqas.
