We migrated with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the sake of Allah, seeking the face of Allah, so our reward became due upon Allah. Among us were those who passed away without having received any of their reward in this world. One of them was Musab bin Umayr, who was killed on the day of Uhud. Nothing could be found to shroud him in except a striped cloak. Whenever we placed it over his head, his feet would stick out, and whenever we placed it over his feet, his head would stick out. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Place it over his head, and cover his feet with idhkhir grass."And among us were those whose fruit had ripened, and they were harvesting it.
Bukhari narrated it in al-Maghazi (4047) and Muslim in al-Janaiz (940:44), both through the route of Amash, from Shaqiq, from Khabab bin Arat, who said, "..." as mentioned before.
