The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Zubayr on the day of Yarmuk, "Will you not charge so that we may charge with you?"He replied, "If I charge, you will not hold your ground."They said, "We will not fail you."So he charged at the enemy until he broke through their ranks and passed beyond them with no one beside him. Then he turned back, and they seized his bridle and struck him twice on his shoulder, with the wound from the day of Badr lying between the two blows.Urwa said, "As a young boy, I used to put my fingers into those wounds and play with them."Urwa also said that Abdullah bin Zubayr was with him that day, being ten years old at the time, so Zubayr mounted him on a horse and assigned a man to look after him.
