I saw us on the day of Badr taking shelter behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, for he was the closest of us to the enemy, and he was the fiercest of people in battle that day.
لقد رأيتنا يوم بدر، ونحن نلوذ برسول الله ﷺ وهو أقربنا إلى العدو، وكان من أشد الناس يومئذ بأسا.
Ahmad (654), (1042), and Ibn Abu Shayba (12660) reported it through the route of Israil, and this is his wording, and Ahmad (1347), Nasai in Kubra (8585), and Hakim (2/143) reported it through the route of Zuhayr, both of them from Abu Ishaq (that is, Subayi), from Haritha bin Mudarrib, from Ali bin Abu Talib, who said, and he mentioned it.Its isnad is sahih. Israil's narration from his grandfather is of the utmost precision, and Abu Ishaq Sabi explicitly stated that he heard it directly from Haritha, in the narration of Tayalisi as found in Ithaf Khayra (9/91). Hakim said, this is a hadith sahih in isnad, and the two of them (Bukhari and Muslim) did not report it.
