The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stopped at the edge of the Harrah, then sent word to the Ansar. They came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr, greeted them, and said, "Ride on, safe and obeyed."So the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and Abu Bakr rode, while the people surrounded them with weapons for protection. Word spread in Madinah, "The Prophet of Allah has come, the Prophet of Allah has come." People climbed up to look out, saying, "The Prophet of Allah has come."He continued on until he stopped near the house of Abu Ayub. While Abu Ayub was speaking with his family, Abdullah bin Salam heard about his arrival. He was in his family's palm grove gathering fruit for them, and he hurried to put down what he had picked. He came with the fruit still in his hand, listened to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, then returned to his family.The Prophet of Allah ﷺ asked, "Which of our family's houses is nearest?"Abu Ayub replied, "I, Prophet of Allah. This is my house, and this is my door."He said, "Go and prepare a place for us to rest."
فنزل رسول الله ﷺ جانب الحرة، ثم بعث إلى الأنصار. فجاؤوا إلى نبي الله ﷺ وأبي بكر. فسلموا عليها وقالوا: اركبا آمنين مطاعين فركب نبي الله ﷺ وأبو بكر. وحقوا دونهما بالسلاح فقيل في المدينة: جاء نبي الله ﷺ، جاء نبي الله فأشرف وينظرون ويقولون: جاء نبي الله، فأقبل يسير حتى نزل جانب دار أبي أيوب، فإنه ليحدث أهله إذ سمع به عبد الله بن سلام، وهو في نخل أهله يخترف لهم فعجل أن يضع الذي يخترف لهم فيها، فجاء وهي معه فسمع من نبي الله ﷺ ثم رجع إلى أهله. فقال نبي الله ﷺ: أي بيوت أهلنا أقرب؟ فقال أبو أيوب: أنا يا نبي الله هذه داري، وهذا بأبي، قال: فانطلق فهيئ لنا مقيلا.
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Virtues (3911), from Muhammad, he said, Abdul-Samad narrated to us, he said, my father narrated to us, he said, Abdul-Aziz bin Suhayb narrated to us, he said, Anas narrated to us, and he mentioned it.
