Abu Barza came in to see Ubaydullah bin Ziyad, who said, "This man of yours who narrates to you, this so-and-so, this Dahdah."Abu Barza replied, "I never thought I would live to see a day when I would be among people who count companionship with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a disgrace."They said, "The governor only summoned you to ask you about the Pool, what is its condition?"He said, "Is it real?"He answered, "Yes, and whoever denies it, may Allah not give him a drink from it."
دخل أبو برزة على عبيد الله بن زياد، فقال: إن محدثكم- كذا- هذا الدحداح فقال: ما كنت أرى أعيش في قوم يعدون صحبة رسول الله ﷺ عارا. قالوا: إن الأمير إنما دعاك ليسألك عن الحوض عن أي باله. قال: أحق هو؟ قال: نعم، فمن كذب به فلا سقاه الله منه.
Bayhaqi narrated it in Bath (154) via Muhammad bin Yahya Dhuhli, who said, Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi told us, from Qurra bin Khalid, from Abu Hamza, and he mentioned it.The men of its chain are trustworthy, except for Abu Hamza, whose name is Talha bin Yazid Ansari, and his hadith is hasan.
