Wathila bin Asqa reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Allah chose Kinanah from the descendants of Ismail, and chose Quraysh from Kinanah, and chose Banu Hashim from Quraysh, and chose me from Banu Hashim."

عن واثلة بن الأسقع يقول

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: إن الله اصطفى كنانة من ولد إسماعيل، واصطفى قريشا من كنانة، واصطفى من قريش بني هاشم، واصطفاني من بني هاشم.
