Someone asked the stepdaughter of the Prophet ﷺ, "In your view, was the Prophet ﷺ from Egypt?"She replied, "Where else would he be from but Mudar? From the tribe of Banu Nadr bin Kinanah."
- ربيبة النبي ﷺ- قيل لها: أرأيت النبي ﷺ أكان من مصر؟ قالت: فممن كان إلا من مضر؟ من بني النضر بن كنانة.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Virtues (3491) from Qays bin Hafs, who said, Abdul-Wahid narrated to us, who said, Kulayb bin Waail narrated to me, who said, the Prophet's ﷺ stepdaughter Zaynab bint Abu Salama narrated to me. He said, I said to her, and he mentioned it.
