Abdullah bin Abbas reported,
The Prophet ﷺ said, "I was given victory through the east wind, and Aad was destroyed by the west wind."

Bukhari related it in the Book of Rain Prayers (1035), and Muslim related it in the Book of Rain Prayers (900, 17), both from the hadith of Shubah, from Hakam, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, who mentioned it.Muslim also has another version through two paths from Amash, from Muslim bin Malik, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who mentioned it.Saba, with a short fatha on the sad, is the eastern wind. Dabur, with a fatha on the dal, is the western wind.
