Abu Saeed Khudri reported,
Ali sent a piece of gold still embedded in its ore from Yemen to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ divided it among four men. The hadith continues that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "From the offspring of this man will come a people who recite the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will kill the people of Islam and spare the worshippers of idols. They will pass out of Islam as an arrow passes through its target. If I live to see them, I will surely kill them as the people of Aad were killed."

بعث علي وهو باليمن بذهبة في تربتها إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقسمها رسول الله ﷺ بين أربعة نفر… وفيه: فقال رسول الله ﷺ: إن من ضئضئ هذا قوما يقرأون القرآن لا يجاوز حناجرهم يقتلون أهل الإسلام، ويدعون أهل الأوثان، يمرقون من الإسلام كما يمرق السهم من الرمية، لئن أدركتهم لأقتلنهم قتل عاد.
and the destruction of his people and the destruction of his peopleBukhari narrated it as a suspended report in the chapters on the prophets (3344), saying, Muhammad bin Kathir said, from Sufyan, from his father, from Ibn Abu Naim, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related it in full. He then connected it with a full chain in the tafsir (4667), saying, Muhammad bin Kathir narrated it to us, and he mentioned it similarly but in shortened form.Muslim narrated it in the zakat chapters (1064:143) from Hannad bin Sari, Abu Ahwas narrated to us, from Saeed bin Masruq, from Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Naim, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he mentioned it in full.As for his saying, "I will surely kill them as Aad was killed," it means that none of them will be left remaining.
