The verses "People, fear your Lord. The convulsion of the Hour is a tremendous thing" up to "but the punishment of Allah is severe" [Hajj 22:1–2] were revealed to the Prophet ﷺ while he was on a journey. He raised his voice with them until his companions gathered around him, and he said, "Do you know what day this is? It is the day when Allah will say to Adam, 'Rise and send forth a company to the Fire. Out of every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire and one to the Garden.'"This weighed heavily upon the Muslims, so the Prophet ﷺ said, "Be steadfast, keep close to the mark, and take heart. By the One in whose hand my soul rests, among all mankind you are but like a mole on the side of a camel, or like the small mark on a beast's foreleg. With you there are two creations, and they have never joined anything without outnumbering it, Yajuj and Majuj, and those who have perished among the disbelievers of the jinn and mankind."
