It is reported from the Prophet ﷺ a hadith similar to that of Ibn Umar, which is, "A woman was punished because of a cat that she tied up, neither feeding it nor giving it water, nor letting it eat from the creatures of the earth."
عن النبي ﷺ. بمثله. أي بمثل حديث ابن عمر وهو: عذبت امرأة في هرة أوثقتها فلم تطعمها ولم تسقها، ولم تدعها تأكل من خشاش الأرض.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Beginning of Creation (3318) and Muslim in the Book of Righteousness and Maintaining Ties (2242-134), both of them from Nasr bin Ali Jahdami, who said, Abdul-Ala narrated to us, from Ubaydullah, from Saeed Maqburi, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Neither of them mentioned its wording, but they both said, "Similarly," following the hadith of Ibn Umar.
