I asked Ayesha, Umm Muiminin, with what words the Prophet of Allah ﷺ would open his prayer when he rose at night. She replied, "When he rose at night, he would open his prayer with, 'O Allah, Lord of Jibrail, Mikail, and Israfil, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, You judge between Your servants concerning that in which they used to differ. Guide me, by Your leave, to the truth concerning that wherein they have differed, for You guide whom You will to a straight path.'"
Muslim narrated it in "Prayer of the Traveler" (770:200) from more than one narrator, who said, Umar bin Yunus told us, Ikrima bin Ammar told us, Yahya bin Abu Kathir told us, Abu Salama told us, and he mentioned it.
