Whenever spoils of war came in, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would distribute them on the very same day. He would give a married man two shares and an unmarried man one share. We were called forward, and I used to be summoned before Ammar bin Yasir. So I was called and he gave me two shares, since I had a family. Then he called Ammar bin Yasir forward and gave him one share.A piece of a golden chain remained, and the Prophet ﷺ began lifting it with the tip of his staff. Then he raised it and said, "How will you be on the day when this kind of wealth pours over you in abundance!"
Ahmad (23986) reported it, and this is his wording, as did Abu Dawud (2953). Ibn Hibban (4816) graded it sahih, as did Hakim (2/140-141), through routes from Safwan bin Amr, from Abdul-Rahman bin Jubayr bin Nufayr, from his father, from Awf bin Malik, who mentioned it. Some of them narrated it in a shortened form. Its chain is sahih. Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the criteria of Muslim, for four hadiths have been reported through this very same chain."
