I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he ordered that I be given a small herd of camels. He said to me, "You should keep horses, for goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection."
أتيت رسول الله ﷺ فأمر لي بذود وقال لي: عليك بالخيل فإن الخيل معقود في نواصيها الخير إلى يوم القيامة.
Tabarani narrated it in Al-Kabir (7/113-114), Bazzar (Kashf Astar 1688), and Ibn Abu Asim in Al-Ahad wal-Mathani (2595), all of them through the route of Salm Jarmi, from Suwada bin Rabi, who mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Salm, who is Ibn Abdul-Rahman Jarmi, for his hadith is hasan.His name was distorted in Tabarani to "Sulayman Jarmi," which is why Haythami said in Al-Majmu (5/260), "I do not know Sulayman, but the rest of its narrators are reliable."
