Anas bin Malik reported,

Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ launched a campaign against a people, he would not attack them until morning. If he heard the call to prayer, he would hold back, but if he heard no call to prayer, he would attack after dawn broke. So we descended upon Khaybar by night. In another wording, the Prophet ﷺ set out for Khaybar and arrived there by night. Whenever he came upon a people at night, he would not attack them until morning. When morning came, the Jews went out with their shovels and baskets. When they saw him, they cried out, "Muhammad, by Allah! Muhammad and his army!"The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah is the greatest! Khaybar is ruined. When we descend upon the courtyard of a people, evil is the morning of those who have been warned."
