She heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "The first army of my nation to wage war at sea have secured their reward."Umm Haram said, "I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, will I be among them?'"He replied, "You will be among them."Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "The first army of my nation to wage war against the city of Caesar will be forgiven."I asked, "Will I be among them, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "No."
أنها سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول: أول جيش من أمتي يغزون البحر قد أوجبوا، قالت أم حرام: قلت: يا رسول الله أنا فيهم؟ قال: أنت فيهم، ثم قال النبي ﷺ: أول جيش من أمتي يغزون مدينة قيصر مغفور لهم، فقلت: أنا فيهم يا رسول الله؟ قال: لا.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Jihad and Military Expeditions (2924), from Ishaq bin Yazid Dimashqi, who said, Yahya bin Hamza told us, Thawr bin Yazid told me, from Khalid bin Madan, that Umayr bin Aswad Ansi told him that he came to Ubada bin Samit while he was staying in the courtyard of Hims, in a building of his, with Umm Haram present with him. Umayr said, "Umm Haram told us the hadith," and then he mentioned it.His words, "the city of Caesar," mean Constantinople. The first to raid it was Yazid bin Muawiya, in the year 52 AH. It has also been said that the city of Caesar is Hims, but the correct view is the first one. See Fath al-Bari (6/102–103).
