He said, "We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a military expedition when he said, 'In Medina there are Some men who, no matter what distance you have traveled or what valley you have crossed, have been with you. Illness held them back.'"
قال كنا مع النبي ﷺ في غزاة فقال: إن بالمدينة لرجالا ما سرتم مسيرا ولا قطعتم واديا إلا كانوا معكم حبسهم المرض.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Leadership (1911:159), from Uthman bin Abu Shayba, who said, Jareer narrated to us, from Amash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, and he related it.He also narrated it through the route of Waki, from Amash, with the same chain, and in it, "except they shared with you in the reward."
