Muslim narrated it in the chapter on leadership (1883:115) via the route of Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri, from Saeed bin Abu Ayub, who said, Shurahbil bin Sharik Maafiri narrated to me, from Abu Abdul-Rahman Hubli, who said, I heard Abu Ayub say, and then he related it.Similar in meaning is what has been narrated from Ibn Abbas, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Setting out in the morning in the path of Allah, or setting out in the evening, is better than this world and everything in it," except that this is daif. Tirmidhi narrated it (1649) via the route of Hajjaj, from Hakam, from Miqsam, from Ibn Abbas, and then he related it. In its chain is Hajjaj bin Artah, who was a mudallis and narrated it using ambiguous transmission wording. Hakam only heard five hadiths from Miqsam, and this is not one of them. This has already come earlier in the chapter on the dislike of traveling on Friday, in a longer version.Similar in meaning is also what has been narrated from Anas bin Malik, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever sets out in the evening in the path of Allah will have, for every bit of dust that touches him, the equivalent of musk on the Day of Resurrection." Ibn Majah narrated it (2775) from Muhammad bin Saeed bin Yazid bin Ibrahim Tustari, who said, Abu Asim narrated to us, from Shabib, from Anas bin Malik, and then he related it.In its chain is Muhammad bin Saeed bin Yazid bin Ibrahim Tustari, from whom a group of narrators transmitted, but no one has affirmed his reliability, except that Ibn Hibban mentioned him among his trustworthy narrators (9/140). For this reason, Ibn Hajar said in Taqrib, "Acceptable," meaning when corroborated, and I have not found any corroborating narration for him. Shabib is Ibn Bishr Bajali, whose hadith is hasan. As for Busiri, he said in Misbah Zujaja (3/158), "This is a hasan chain, though there is disagreement concerning the narrators in its chain."
