The Prophet ﷺ said, "Allah has never sent a prophet nor appointed a successor without there being two close circles around him. One circle urges him toward good and encourages him in it, and another circle urges him toward evil and encourages him in it. The truly protected one is he whom Allah Most High protects."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: ما بعث الله من نبي ولا استخلف من خليفة إلا كانت له بطانتان: بطانة تأمره بالمعروف، وتحضه عليه، وبطانة تأمره بالشر، وتحضه عليه، فالمعصوم من عصم الله تعالى.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Judgments (7198) from Asbagh, who said, Ibn Wahb told us, Yunus told me, from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salama, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he mentioned it.Bukhari said after it, Sulayman said, from Yahya, Ibn Shihab told me this. And from Ibn Abu Atiq and Musa, from Ibn Shihab, similarly. Shuayb said, from Zuhri, Abu Salama told me, from Abu Saeed, as his own statement. Uzai and Muawiya bin Salam said, Zuhri told me, Abu Salama told me, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Ibn Abu Husayn and Saeed bin Ziyad said, from Abu Salama, from Abu Saeed, as his own statement. Ubaydullah bin Abu Jafar said, Safwan told me, from Abu Salama, from Abu Ayub, who said, I heard the Prophet ﷺ.
