The Prophet ﷺ said to Kaab bin Ujra, "May Allah protect you from the rule of the foolish."Kaab asked, "What is the rule of the foolish?"He replied, "Rulers who will come after me who do not follow my guidance and do not adhere to my way. Whoever affirms their lies and assists them in their oppression, they are not of me and I am not of them, and they will not come to my Pond. But whoever does not affirm their lies and does not assist them in their oppression, they are of me and I am of them, and they will come to my Pond.Kaab bin Ujra, fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sin, and prayer is a means of nearness," or he said, "a proof.Kaab bin Ujra, no flesh that has grown from unlawful sustenance shall enter Paradise. The Fire is more fitting for it.Kaab bin Ujra, people set out in the morning in two groups. One sells himself and ransoms it, freeing it, and another sells himself and destroys it."
Ahmad (14441) narrated it from Abdul-Razzaq, who said, Mamar informed us, from Ibn Khuthaym, from Abdul-Rahman bin Sabit, from Jabir bin Abdullah, and he related it.The hadith is in Musannaf Abdul-Razzaq (20719). It was also transmitted by Bazzar (1609, Kashf), Abu Yaala (1999), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (4514), as did Hakim (4/422), from this same route.I say, its chain is hasan because of Ibn Khuthaym, who is Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, diminutive form, the Qari, of Makkah. Abu Hatim said of him, "There is no harm in him," and Nasai said, "Trustworthy." Ibn Hibban listed him among the trustworthy. He is among the men relied upon by Muslim, though he was only saduq, as stated in Taqrib.
