The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the use of clay jars, gourds, and pitch-coated vessels.
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الجرار، والدباء، والظروف المزفتة.
Nasai (5635), Ibn Majah (3408), and Ahmad (10971) all narrated it through various routes from Uzai, from Yahya bin Abu Kathir, from Abu Salama, from Abu Hurairah, who said, and then he mentioned it. The wording given is that of Nasai. Ahmad added, "and about all vessels." Ibn Majah confined himself to "nabidh made in clay jars." Its chain of transmission is sahih, and Abu Salama is the son of Abdul-Rahman bin Awf.
