The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the use of gourds, green jars, hollowed stumps, and tar-coated vessels.In another narration, "tar-coated vessels" appears in place of "pitch-coated vessels."
نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن الدباء، والحنتم، والنقير والمزفت. وفي رواية: المزفت بدل المقير
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Drinks (1995:38), from Yaqub bin Ibrahim, who said, Ibn Ulaya narrated to us, who said, Ishaq bin Suwayd narrated to us, from Muaza, from Ayesha, and he related it.The other version comes through Abdul-Wahhab Thaqafi, from Ishaq bin Suwayd, with the same wording.
