The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delivered a sermon and mentioned the verse concerning wine. A man asked, "What do you say about mizr?"He replied, "What is mizr?"The man said, "It is a grain prepared in Yemen."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Does it intoxicate?"The man answered, "Yes."He said, "Every intoxicant is forbidden."
خطب رسول الله ﷺ فذكر آية الخمر، فقال رجل: أرأيت المزر؟ قال: وما المزر؟ قال: حبة تصنع باليمن، فقال: تسكر؟ قال: نعم قال: كل مسكر حرام.
Nasai narrated it (5605) from Abu Bakr bin Ali, who said, Nasr bin Ali narrated to us, my father informed me, Ibrahim bin Nafi narrated to us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Ibn Umar, who said, then he mentioned it.Its isnad is sahih, and all its narrators are trustworthy. Abu Nasr bin Ali is Ali bin Nasr bin Ali Jahdami, and Ibn Tawus is Abdullah.However, Abu Hatim Razi found it objectionable and said, "This is a rejected hadith. In my view, it cannot possibly be from the hadith of Ibn Umar, and it more closely resembles the hadith of Abdullah bin Amr."I say, disagreement over the identity of the companion who narrated a hadith is not a disqualifying flaw, and something similar has already occurred before in the hadith of Abu Musa Ashari.
