The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever abandons the prayer due to drunkenness even once, it is as though he possessed the world and everything in it, then had it all stripped away from him. And whoever abandons the prayer due to drunkenness four times, it becomes binding upon Allah to give him to drink from the mud of khabal."Someone asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is the mud of khabal?"He replied, "The pus discharged by the people of Hell."
Ahmad (6659), Hakim (4/146), Bayhaqi in Sunan (1/389, 8/287), and in Shuab al-Iman (5193) all narrated it, all of them through Ibn Wahb, who said, Amr bin Harith told me, from Amr bin Shuayb, from his father, from Abdullah bin Amr, and he related it.This isnad is hasan because of the discussion surrounding Amr bin Shuayb, though he is one whose hadith is hasan. Hakim said, "Its isnad is sahih," but Dhahabi challenged this, saying, "Ibn Wahb heard it from him, and it is very unusual."I say, but it has other paths through Amr bin Harith found in Tabarani's Awsat (6371) and in Marwazi's Tazim Qadr al-Salah (922).
