The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever from my nation dies while drinking wine, Allah will forbid it to him in the Hereafter, and whoever from my nation dies while wearing silk, Allah will forbid him from wearing it in the Hereafter."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من مات من أمتي وهو يشرب الخمر، حرمها الله عليه في الآخرة، ومن مات من أمتي وهو يلبس الحرير حرم الله عليه لبسه في الآخرة.

Abu Yaala Mawsili narrated it, as found in Ithaf Khayra Mahra by Busiri (5480), by way of Abdul-Ala bin Abdul-Ala, from Saeed Jariri, from Maymun bin Ustadh, from Abdullah bin Amr, and he mentioned it. This is a sahih isnad. Although Saeed Jariri had his memory confused later in life, Abdul-Ala's hearing from him is sahih. Ajli said in his Thiqat, "Saeed bin Iyas Jariri, from Basra, is thiqah, but his memory became confused toward the end of his life." He then mentioned those who narrated from him after the confusion set in, and said, "What is sahih from him is what Hammad bin Salama and Ismail bin Ulaya narrated, and Abdul-Ala is among the soundest of those who heard from him, having heard from him eight years before his memory became confused, and what Sufyan Thawri and Shuba narrated is also sahih."As for his teacher Maymun bin Ustadh, he too is thiqah. Ibn Main declared him thiqah, as found in Jarh wa Tadil (8/233), and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in his Thiqat (5/418).Ahmad also narrated it (6948) from Yazid bin Harun, and Abu Yaala Mawsili narrated it as well, as found in Ithaf (5479), by way of Bishr bin Mufaddal, both of them from Jareeri, from Maymun bin Ustadh, from Sadafi, from Abdullah bin Amr, with similar wording. This adds an extra man into the isnad, which is an error. Abdullah bin Ahmad said, "My father struck through this hadith, and I supposed he struck through it because it is an error, for it is simply Maymun bin Ustadh from Abdullah bin Amr, without 'from Sadafi' in it. It is said that this Maymun is himself Sadafi, since Yazid bin Harun's hearing from Jareeri came late in his life."I say, perhaps the same applies to Bishr bin Mufaddal, for I have not found anyone state explicitly that his hearing from Jareeri was before the confusion set in. Nevertheless, the fact that these narrators corroborate Abdul-Ala bin Abdul-Ala confirms that Saeed Jareeri's confusion did not affect this particular hadith.
