"Believers, do not approach the prayer while intoxicated" [Nisa 4:43] and "They ask you about wine and gambling. Say, in them there is great sin, though also some benefit for people" [Baqarah 2:219] were both abrogated by the verse in Maidah, "Wine, gambling, idols..." [Maidah 5:90].
{يأيها الذين ءامنوا لا تقربوا الصلوة وأنتم سكرى} و {ويسألونك عن الخمر والميسر قل فيهما إثم كبير ومنفع للناس} نسختهما التي في المائدة {إنما الخمر والميسر والأنصاب}.
Abu Dawud (3672) narrated it from Ahmad bin Muhammad Marwazi, who said, Ali bin Husayn narrated to us, from his father, from Yazid Nahwi, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who related it. Its chain is hasan because of Ali bin Husayn bin Waqid, for there is disagreement about him, but his hadith is hasan so long as it does not contradict others.
