A man gave the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a large skin of wine as a gift.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "Did you know that Allah has forbidden it?"He replied, "No."Then he whispered something to another man, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "What did you whisper to him?"He said, "I told him to sell it."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The One who forbade drinking it has forbidden selling it."So the man opened the waterskin and let its contents pour out.
إن رجلا أهدى لرسول الله ﷺ راوية خمر، فقال له رسول الله ﷺ: هل علمت أن الله قد حرمها؟ قال: لا، فسار إنسانا، فقال له رسول الله ﷺ: بم ساررته؟ فقال: أمرته ببيعها، فقال: إن الذي حرم شربها حرم بيعها، قال: ففتح المزاد حتى ذهب ما فيها.
