A man asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while he was on the pulpit, about eating the spiny-tailed lizard. He replied, "I do not eat it, but I do not forbid it either."
سأل رجل رسول الله ﷺ وهو على المنبر عن أكل الضب؟ فقال: لا آكله ولا أحرمه.
Muslim reported it in the Book of Hunting and Slaughtered Animals (1943: 41) from Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numayr, who said, "My father narrated to us, Ubaydullah narrated to us, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar," and he mentioned it.
