The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade killing any animal by tying it up as a target.
نهى رسول الله ﷺ أن يقتل شيء من الدواب صبرا.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Hunting and Slaughtered Animals (1959:60) through several routes from Ibn Jurayj, who said, Abu Zubayr told me that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah say, then he mentioned it.
