Ibn Khabab reported,

Abu Saeed bin Malik al-Khudri returned from a journey, and his family brought him some of the meat from the sacrificial animals. He said, "I will not eat it until I ask about it."So he went to his maternal brother Qatada bin Numan, who had been a participant at Badr, and asked him about it.Qatada replied, "Something happened after you left that overturned the previous prohibition against eating the meat of sacrifices beyond three days."
