Saad bin Ubada said, "Messenger of Allah, if I were to find a man with my wife, am I not to touch him until I bring four witnesses?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Yes."Saad said, "Never! By the One who sent you with the truth, I would strike him with the sword before that."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Listen to what your chief is saying. He is indeed jealous, and I am more jealous than him, and Allah is more jealous than I am."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Lian (16:1498) from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, Khalid bin Mukhlad narrated to us, from Sulayman bin Bilal, who said, Suhayl narrated to me, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Muslim also narrated it (1498:14) through Darawardi, from Suhayl, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, that Saad bin Ubada al-Ansari said, "O Messenger of Allah, what do you think about a man who finds another man with his wife, should he kill him?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "No." Saad said, "Yes, by the One who has honored you with the truth." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Listen to what your leader is saying."
