Abdullah bin Umar reported,

A group of Jews came and invited the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Quff, so he came to them in the house of study.They said, "Abu Qasim, a man among us has committed adultery with a woman, so judge between them."They placed a cushion for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he sat on it. Then he said, "Bring me the Torah."It was brought to him, and he pulled the cushion out from under himself and placed the Torah on it. Then he said, "I believe in you and in the One who revealed you." Then he said, "Bring me the most learned among you."A young man was brought to him. Then he mentioned the story of the stoning.Abdullah bin Maslama narrated to us, saying, I read to Malik bin Anas, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, that he said, The Jews came to the Prophet ﷺ and told him that a man and a woman among them had committed adultery.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them, "What do you find in the Torah concerning adultery?"They replied, "We expose them publicly and they are flogged."Abdullah bin Salam said, "You are lying. The Torah contains the penalty of stoning."So they brought the Torah and spread it open, and one of them placed his hand over the verse of stoning and began reading what came before it and after it.Abdullah bin Salam said to him, "Lift your hand."He lifted it, and there was the verse of stoning.They said, "He has spoken the truth, Muhammad. The verse of stoning is in it."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave the order concerning the two of them, and they were stoned.Abdullah bin Umar said, I saw the man leaning over the woman, shielding her from the stones.

عن ابن عمر قال: أتى نفر من اليهود، فدعوا رسول الله ﷺ إلى القف فأتاهم في بيت المدراس فقالوا: يا أبا القاسم: إن رجلا منا زنى بامرأة، فاحكم، فوضعوا لرسول الله ﷺ وسادة فجلس عليها. ثم قال: ائتوني بالتوراة فأتي بها، فنزع الوسادة من تحته، ووضع التوراة عليها. ثم قال: آمنت بك وبمن أنزلك ثم قال: ائتوني بأعلمكم فأتي بفتى شاب. ثم ذكر قصة الرجم نحو حديث مالك، عن نافع.
