I came to the Prophet ﷺ with a son of mine.He asked, "Is this your son?"I replied, "Yes."He said, "He cannot bring guilt upon you, nor can you bring guilt upon him."
أتيت النبي ﷺ ومعي ابن لي، قال: فقال: ابنك هذا؟ قال: قلت: نعم، قال: لا يجني عليك، ولا تجني عليه.
Ibn Majah (2671) and Ahmad (19031) both narrated it, each through Hushaym bin Bashir, who said, our informant was Yunus bin Ubayd, from Husayn bin Abu Hurr, from Khashkhash, and he related it. Husayn bin Abu Hurr, the name of Abu Hurr is Malik, and he is the son of Khashkhash Anbari. His father and his grandfather both had companionship with the Prophet, and he narrated from his grandfather Khashkhash. This chain is sahih. However, Imam Ahmad said, Hushaym once said, our informant was Yunus bin Ubayd, who said, someone informed me, from Husayn bin Abu Hurr, thereby placing an unnamed person between Yunus and Husayn. The unnamed person is Walid bin Muslim bin Shihab Anbari, Abu Bishr, as Mizzi mentioned in the biography of Husayn. Amr bin Awn narrated it from Hushaym, from Yunus bin Ubayd, from Husayn bin Abu Hurr, or he said, from Walid bin Abu Bishr, from Husayn bin Abu Hurr. He said, others narrated it from Hushaym, from Yunus, from Walid bin Abu Bishr, from Husayn bin Abu Hurr, without any doubt, and this is the sahih version. This is the end of Mizzi's statement.I say, this is how Ibn Abu Asim narrated it in Diyat (313), from Ismail bin Salim, our informant was Hushaym, from Yunus, from Walid bin Muslim, without any doubt. This chain is sahih. It may be that Yunus bin Ubayd had two teachers, Husayn bin Abu Hurr and Walid bin Abu Bishr, and Hushaym bin Bashir did not distinguish between them clearly, and both chains are sahih. It has also been narrated as mursal, but the connected version is more sahih.
