Abdullah bin Amr bin As reported,

I gifted a slave girl to a man from the tribe of Bani Mudlij, and he had a son by her. He used to have her serve him. When the boy grew up, he called her one day and said, "Do such and such."She replied, "She will not come to you. How long will you keep treating my mother as a slave girl?"The boy became angry and threw his sword at him, striking his leg. The boy bled out and died.So he set off with a group of his people to Umar and said what had happened.Umar said, "You enemy of yourself, you are the one who killed your son. Were it not that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A father is not killed in retaliation for his son,' I would have killed you. Bring his blood-money."So he brought him a hundred and twenty or a hundred and thirty camels. Umar selected one hundred of the best of them, handed them over to the boy's heirs, and excluded his father from the inheritance.
