Two men brought a dispute to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ concerning the protected area around a palm tree. He ordered that it be measured, and it was found to be seven cubits. In another narration, five cubits. He gave judgment accordingly.
اختصم إلى رسول الله ﷺ رجلان في حريم نخلة فأمر بها فذرعت فوجدت سبعة أذرع. وفي رواية: خمسة أذرع. فقضى بذلك.
Abu Dawud (3640) narrated it from Muhammad bin Khalid, that Muhammad bin Uthman related it to them, Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad related it to us, from Abu Tuwalah and Amr bin Yahya, from his father, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad, who is Darawardi, for he is hasan al-hadith. Abu Tuwalah is Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman bin Muammar bin Hazm Ansari, a trustworthy narrator among the men found in all six collections.
