The Prophet ﷺ said, "When you dispute over a road, its width is to be set at seven cubits."
أن النبي ﷺ قال: إذا اختلفتم في الطريق جعل عرضه سبع أذرع.
Muslim narrated it in Musaqat (1613) from Abu Kamil Fudayl bin Husayn Jahdari, who said, Abdul-Aziz bin Mukhtar told us, who said, Khalid Haddan told us, from Yusuf bin Abdullah, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Bukhari narrated it in Mazalim (2473) through another route from Abu Hurairah, with this wording, The Prophet ﷺ ruled that when people dispute over a road, it should be set at seven cubits.
