A woman stole something during the conquest of Mecca, so she was brought before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who ordered that her hand be cut off, and it was done.Ayesha said, "She repented sincerely and later married. After that, she would come to me, and I would convey her needs to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
أن امرأة سرقت في غزوة الفتح، فأتي بها رسول الله ﷺ ثم أمر فقطعت يدها. قالت عائشة: فحسنت توبتها وتزوجت، وكانت تأتي بعد ذلك فأرفع حاجتها إلى رسول الله ﷺ.
Bukhari narrated it in "Testimonies" (2648) and Muslim in "Punishments" (9:1688), both through Ibn Wahb, from Yunus bin Yazid, from Ibn Shihab, who said, Urwa informed me, from Ayesha. The wording given here follows Bukhari, though Muslim's wording is more complete.
