The Messenger of Allah ﷺ rejected the testimony of a treacherous man, a treacherous woman, and one who harbors a grudge against his brother. He also rejected the testimony of a dependent in favor of the household he belongs to, but accepted his testimony in favor of others.
أن رسول الله ﷺ رد شهادة الخائن والخائنة، وذي الغمرة على أخيه، ورد شهادة القانع لأهل البيت، وأجازها لغيرهم.
Abu Dawud (3600), Ahmad (6898), Daraqutni (243/4), and Bayhaqi (200/10) all narrated it through Muhammad bin Rashid, from Sulayman bin Musa, from Amr bin Shuayb with his chain of transmission, and related it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Amr bin Shuayb and his father, for the hadith of both of them is hasan.Abu Dawud said, "Rancor means grudge and enmity. And the dependent is the hired follower, like a private employee."Ibn Majah (2366) narrated it through another route from Hajjaj bin Artah, from Amr bin Shuayb with his chain, adding in it, "nor one who has undergone a prescribed punishment in Islam." Hajjaj bin Artah is a mudallis and he narrated this using "an", but he has corroboration for the основе of the hadith.Abu Dawud (2601) also narrated it through another route from Saeed bin Abdul-Aziz, from Sulayman bin Musa with his chain, adding in it, "nor a fornicator, male or female."As for what is narrated from Ayesha, who said that the Messenger of Allah said, "The testimony of a treacherous man or woman is not acceptable, nor that of one who has been flogged with a prescribed punishment, male or female, nor one who harbors rancor toward his brother, nor one whose testimony has been proven unreliable, nor the dependent of a household testifying on their behalf, nor one suspected regarding a client relationship or kinship." This is daif.It was narrated by Tirmidhi (2298), Daraqutni (244/4), Baghawi (2510), and Bayhaqi (202155/10), all of them through the hadith of Yazid bin Abu Ziyad Dimashqi, from Zuhri, from Urwa, from Ayesha, and related it.Tirmidhi said, "This is a rare hadith. We do not know it except through the hadith of Yazid bin Ziyad Dimashqi, and Yazid is considered daif in hadith. This hadith is not known from the hadith of Zuhri except through his report."Baghawi said, "This is a rare hadith, and Yazid bin Ziyad Dimashqi's hadith is rejected."Bayhaqi said, "Yazid bin Abu Ziyad, also called Ibn Ziyad Shami, is daif."
