Umm Atiya reported,

Umm Atiya said, "We were forbidden to mourn for any deceased person beyond three days, except for a husband, for whom the mourning period was four months and ten days. During that time we were not to apply kohl, wear perfume, or put on dyed clothing, except for a garment of asb cloth. We were permitted, upon purification after one of us bathed from her menstrual period, to use a small portion of qust and azfar. And we were forbidden from following funeral processions."In another narration, Muhammad bin Sirin said, A son of Umm Atiya passed away. On the third day, she called for a yellow perfume and applied it, saying, "We were forbidden to mourn for more than three days, except for a husband."

Sahih
