The dowry, when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was among us, was ten uqiyahs. He clapped his hands together to indicate the amount, which equals four hundred.
كان الصداق إذ كان رسول الله ﷺ فينا عشرة أواق. وطبق بيديه وذلك أربع مائة.
Narrated by Nasai (3348), Ahmad (8807), and Daraqutni (3/222), and Ibn Hibban (4097) and Hakim (2/175) graded it sahih, all of them via Dawud bin Qays, from Musa bin Yasar, from Abu Hurairah. He related it, and some abridged it down to his saying, "ten uqiyahs." Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim."
