The Prophet ﷺ said, "The one who recites the Quran and has memorized it is with the noble and righteous scribes. As for the one who recites it while struggling, finding it difficult, he has two rewards. The one proficient in the Quran is with the noble and righteous scribes."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: مثل الذي يقرأ القرآن وهو حافظ له مع السفرة الكرام، ومثل الذي يقرأ وهو يتعاهده وهو عليه شديد فله أجران الماهر بالقرآن مع السفرة الكرام البررة.
Bukhari related it in the Tafsir (4937), and Muslim in the Prayer of the Traveler (798), both from the hadith of Qatada, who said, I heard Zurara bin Awfa narrate from Saad bin Hisham, from Ayesha, and then he mentioned the hadith. The wording given is Bukhari's. In Muslim's wording it reads, "And the one who reads the Quran and stumbles over it, and it is difficult for him, has two rewards." As for as-Safarah, they are the angels.
