The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Every soul among the children of Adam is a master. The man is the master of his household, and the woman is the mistress of her home."

Ibn Sunni related it in Amal al-Yawm wal-Layla (389), and Ibn Adi in al-Kamil (4/1520) in the biography of Abdullah bin Wahb Misri, both through routes going back to Ahmad bin Amr bin Sarh, who said, Ibn Wahb related to us, Amr bin Harith informed me, from Abu Yunus (whose name was Salim bin Jubayr, the freedman of Abu Hurairah), from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Ahmad bin Amr bin Abdullah bin Amr bin Sarh Misri, whom Nasai deemed reliable, while Abu Zura and Abu Hatim said, "There is no harm in him." Dhahabi mentioned it in al-Siyar (23/56) in the biography of Ibn Sarh, and said, "This is a hadith with a sound chain, gharib." His saying "gharib" means that Ibn Sarh alone transmitted it, and he is hasan al-hadith as noted before, and this hadith has sahih foundations.
