When the Prophet ﷺ returned from the Battle of the Trench, he set down his weapons and bathed. Then Jibreel came to him and said, "Have you set down your weapons? By Allah, we have not set ours down. Go out to them."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "To where?"Jibreel replied, "Over there," pointing toward Banu Qurayzah. So the Prophet ﷺ set out toward them.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Military Expeditions (4117), from Abdullah bin Abu Shayba, who said, we were told by Ibn Numayr, from Hisham, from his father, from Ayesha, and she narrated the like of it. He also related it in the Book of Jihad (2813), through the route of Abda, from Hisham, and in it, "Jibreel came to him with his head wrapped in dust from the road." And in the narration of Zakariya bin Yahya, from Abdullah bin Numayr, "Jibreel came to him , shaking the dust from his head." The rest of this hadith will come later in the Book of Military Expeditions.
