I used to drink while menstruating, then hand the cup to the Prophet ﷺ, and he would place his mouth where mine had been and drink. And I would gnaw on a bone while menstruating, then hand it to the Prophet ﷺ, and he would place his mouth where mine had been.

Muslim narrated it in the Book of Menstruation (300), through several chains, from Waki, from Masaar and Sufyan, from Miqdam bin Shurayh, from his father, from Ayesha, who related it as mentioned.Al-irq (bone with meat), with the raa unvoweled, is a bone from which most of the meat has been taken, and its plural is iraq. It has also been said that it is a bone that still has some meat left on it.This shows the Prophet's ﷺ gentle consideration in eating and drinking with his family.
