The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Woman was created from a rib. If you try to straighten her, you will break her, so be gentle with her and you will live with her in harmony."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن المرأة خلقت من ضلع، فإن أقمتها كسرتها، فدارها تعش بها.
Bazzar narrated it - Kashf Astar (1476) - and Tabarani (6992), Ibn Hibban (4178), and Hakim (4/174), all of them through the route of Awf bin Abu Jameela, from Abu Raja Attaradi, from Samura bin Jundab, who mentioned it. Hakim said, "Sahih in isnad according to the standard of the two Shaykhs."Ahmad (20093) also narrated it through this same route, except that he left the man between Awf and Samura unnamed, saying, "from a man," who said, I heard Samura bin Jundab delivering a sermon on the pulpit of Basra, saying such and such, and he mentioned the hadith. The unnamed man is Abu Raja Attaradi, Imran bin Milhan, a trustworthy narrator of the mukhadramun generation.
